I figured it was worth sharing it to kill some time. I didn't mean to take the video. I was just testing out new ways to give them water without having to add carrots. Almost all methods worked to some degree but this was a clear winner.

Wow it never occurred to me that I can give them a bowl of water. Mostly I use potatoes. I'm going to offer them some like this. Honestly I was under the impression all the water they need is sucked out of their food.

I was under the same impression as well that they'd obtain all the water they need from their food and occasional carrots and whatnot. But their bedding is dried bran and personally I was skeptical that they'd get any form of water from that.

 

So, I dropped few droplets of water onto the bran and the beetles dashed toward the wet spot and started to fight for it at which point it occurred to me that perhaps direct water might be better instead of carrots which I was using.

 

At first, I used ant liquid feeder which they kept knocking over since about ten of them were fighting for a spot to drink.

 

So, this time, I used a plastic dish and they didn't knock it over. They drank the whole water in about few hours. I guess they were very thirsty.

Give them a mini bowl for drinking water like other pets!
