Been interested in ant keeping for almost a year now but just got my first colony going. The reason it took so long is because I emailed most entomologists and

mycologists and told me it was a lost cause do to Argentines and eucalyptus trees. But after talking to local ant keepers it's invigorated me to find others within

the community here. I live in Oakland so its not as much of a hot spot for ants like it is for San Jose, San Francisco, and Antioch is but I still have a passion for

it. I'd really like if someone could help me with the times, places, species, and weather conditions for the Bay's more unique and prominent ants. I would love going ant hunting with some of you. Take Care.
