Earlier today I stumbled upon a log containing an entire termite colony, and managed to get most of the workers and the queen. I also found the king, but he was injured in the collection process.

I was wondering if the nymphs would molt into a male to mate with the queen. Does anyone know if this is possible/likely with drywoods? Thanks!

They could. I think termites also have backup reproductives.

These were fed to my colonies, I actually didn't intend to keep them unless they could become reproductives. The ones I didn't feed in the first two days got killed by the soldiers and workers for some reason.
