Queen #1 Myrmica? Mermecina?

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Rochester, New York
2. Date of collection: June 30, 2018 8:15 P.M
3. Habitat of collection: Flat land with dirt/sand
4. Length (from head to gaster): approximately 4-5mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Red head, thorax. Black gaster. Gaster is small so it must be semi-clausteral
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Likes humidity
7. Distinguishing behavior: Not very fast
8. Nest description: N/A
9. Nuptial flight time and date:N/A

Queen #2 Tetramorium Immigrans?

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Rochester, New York
2. Date of collection: June 30, 2018
3. Habitat of collection: Sandy flat dirt area
4. Length (from head to gaster): Around the size of my pinkie
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Large gaster
6. Distinguishing characteristics: -
7. Distinguishing behavior:-
8. Nest description: -
9. Nuptial flight time and date:-

Also could I please have some info as to how I’m supposed to raise Myrmica and Tetramorium? At least on Myrmica because my other Myrmica failed.

The first queen is Myrmica sp. and the second queen is Tetramorium immigrans.

We will need better measurements then that, as we don't know what the size of your pinkie finger is.

 

But anyways first one looks like a Myrmica queen but it can be any one of the small Myrmicines, however it doesn't look like Myrmecina. Second queen I would guess Tetramorium immigrans.

So I have narrowed down the first one to Myrmica americana and Myrmica cf. punctiventris. It also could possibly be Myrmecina americana

Is the setup she’s in ok? Is the food ok? (Fly, honey, raspberry) Should I move her to the founding formicarium in the link above?

Edit: I think queen number two is Aphenogaster Picea since she won’t eat and myrmica is semi-clausterul.

Myrmica queens will reject lots of foods and sometimes they won't eat at all. Just because it hasn't eaten doesn't mean it isn't a Myrmica sp.

But someone also ideantified it as aphenogaster.
