1. Location: Westchester, NY
2. Collected: 6/17/18
3. Habitat: Under a rock slab in a back yard.  Within two days of digging in.
4. Length: ~5-6mm
5. Coloration: black with brownish stripes
6. Distinguishing Characteristics: brown stripes on gaster, gaster is shiny.
7. Additonal Description: Slow, not moving around much.
8. Nest Descriptoin: Very tight chamber
9. Nuptial Flight: n/a

It could be Nylanderia or something like Lasius. A picture from the top would help.
