I'm Yomegami, an aspiring ant keeper.

I got into the hobby by discovering AntsCanada earlier this year. I watched a couple of those videos, thought "Hey, this looks interesting!" and decided to give it a shot. After two failed attempts at keeping a queen (the first one was actually a worker; the second one tried to fly while I was putting her into a test tube so she probably wasn't mated), I now have a Camponotus subbarbatus queen and her eggs in a test tube setup. I'm hopeful she'll give me a colony.

In trying to identify and figure out exactly what that species likes, I stumbled upon this place. After lurking for a while, I figured I'd join up and see how it works out for me. So here I am.

Outside of ants I'm also an aspiring writer and game developer, albeit a lazy and often unmotivated one. Still trying to figure out exactly what it is I want to do in life; hopefully I'll discover it sooner rather than later.

I think that's all I have to say for now. Chances are I'll be asking questions sooner or later; hopefully I won't come off as that irritating.
