Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum

Hey this is a better approach - a piece of vinyl tubing held in with dry cotton :)

 


Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum

Hey this is a better approach - a piece of vinyl tubing held in with dry cotton :)

 

I've been making the entrances to tubes smaller with this method, using straws instead of tubing. Straws are probably more common, and they make the entrance / exit even smaller, which is better for small species.

Don't want it to be too small though, as some of my ants like to drag their food in for the larvae to feed on
