Don't know how tight a seal it has, but it does address one of my main complaints of acrylic nests, no easy way to quickly remove the top for cleaning etc

A pity it only comes with a garish orange and yellow :/

It does look like there might be a silicon layer on the tops of the chambers/passages

May be worth contacting them and asking about other/custom colors. I find Aliexpress similar to eBay where occasionally vendors are willing to work with you for custom things (sometimes for no add'l charge.)

mine is getting shipped and planning on moving my camponotus in there but they're still rather a small colony with 9 workers and like 8 pupae

That video up there is housing a Messor barbarus colony, which have some fairly big majors and the queen is fairly large as well.

I've seen some of the other horziontal nests house Camponotus consobrinus, which are one of the largest ants we have here

But if you have a lot of ants then you would have to get one of the larger nests

The yellow one in this vid can hold Camponotus easy

All of them have a dense sponge that soaks water and then disperses them through the seams of the acrylic.

Some of them have a test tube that holds water and wicks them to the sponge, so they can go for weeks without any added water, much like a test tube setup

Normally you just squirt the water directly onto the gypsum, as it absorbs and holds a lot of water.
However I do not see a hole in the casing to do so, unless there is one of the backside

edit - the plug at the front is probably where you squirt water in.

I wonder what they are pixelating there in the nest to hide, maybe there were some ants in it when the photo was taken?  I assume the middle chamber is for hydration maybe.

That is so bizarre. I wonder if those parts are mesh and they are trying to censor it for people with Trypophobia? Or, maybe they're hiding parts of the design that have been stolen from other distributors. They could be "water towers" which is a Tar Heel Ants design.

Maybe an ant queen and a male on both sides were mating right in that moment he took the picture. So he pixelated out this sinful sexual act to protect small children from losing their innocence.

Luckily nobody patented the use of plaster or Ytong as nesting material. There are so many great ideas in the forums and I guess also some professional ant nest makers do benefit from them.
