My queen currently has larvae so I went out and got a cricket from my local pet store. I'm planning on killing it and feeding the queen a leg, but was wondering if I could store the rest of the body in the freezer.

Yes, that's what I've been doing. Make sure get the air out of the bag to help stop freezer burns / drying out.

I have like 15 freezing in the fridge. From fridge to sliced up to formicarium in less than 3 minutes. They thaw REAL FAST!

I never keep mine frozen for more than a few days, but I do have a tip. Once you're ready to feed, put however many frozen crickets you need into a container or air filled bag and shake them around violently. This causes all of their antennae and legs to fall off. I've found that this keeps things significantly cleaner inside test tubes, where my ants always seem to dismember those bits and make a mess.
