Hello everyone!....   From Texas, currently living in Colorado.  Just started getting interested in Ants.  looking at getting my first  ant farm.  Trying to decide between the two below...  would love to hear ya'lls thoughts on my first....

That looks like THA, ants would do great in those but not until the colony reaches a large size.

Welcome! Personally I would choose the bottom one (made by TarHeelAnts). BUT you would need a colony first.

What would ya'll recommend for a first timer???  figured Id start with just some workers off the internet to learn with before I took on a queen

Welcome to Formiculture! I know you westerners have got some pretty cool ants out there. 

 

Those formicaria don't look like they'd be great for a young colony. I'd recommend a test tube set up for a founding queen and maybe the second nest when the colony is mature enough.
