Do assassin bugs like to eat soft-bodied insects or did it just not want to eat my mealworm?

I caught two spiders and they were following each other around yesterday(like when one went to dig a burrow the other would follow a minute after) but not today. What does that mean?

I also posted the two on off-topic ID requests.

Assassin bugs eat by sticking a long tube into a live soft bodied insect and sucking its insides dry, they're ambush predators and some are specialized for certain kinds of prey.

I am not sure about the spider thing, I don't know. The best guest I can think of is that they were trying to mate.

I kept assassin bugs for a while. They weren't exciting at all. They sat there and when you finally left them alone, they would suck dry whatever you gave them. Needless to say I understand why they aren't real common pets. But they will eat mealworms. Gave mine caterpillars and spiders pretty frequently.
