so about a week or two ago i came across this book through the google store and its super detailed about everything and what seems to me has every north american native ant and proper photos and multiple details about the ants. the book is called Ants of North America: A Guide to the Genera by Brian L. Fisher. and i find it to be very scientifically intriguing.

just figured anyone really wanting to help people identify their ants its a nice tool. I'm still waiting for it to warm up in wyoming so i can go look for false honey pots

For those who live in the north eastern United States, this is an *excellent* book:
A Field Guide to the Ants of New England
I got it used from Amazon so was a lot cheaper, and was in pristine shaped. I find it handier than the Ants of North America: A Guide to the Genera book as it's specific to where I live (though it's also a very good book).

that book is also good i don't own in but i browsed through it, the one that i suggested was more for a general over view as where i live in the midwest i couldn't find a region specific guide like the New England one
