I have just started heating these girls up with a heating cable.

Hopefully that'll speed things up.

So this colony has been doing really well as the queen has been laying a bunch of eggs. They have also been accepting lots of protein (superworms), but don't seem interested in honey.

Here are some pictures of the eggs.

Good new guys! Some of the eggs have hatched into tiny larvae. I will be sure to up the protein amount so that they can develop properly. I will get pics ASAP.

There are about 3-5 tiny larvae. In total it took around 16 days for these eggs to hatch and I hope more will hatch soon!

This colony continues to thrive. They have a large brood pile and around 8-9 pupae. I have fed them fruit flies, super worms, and cricket. Suprisingly they also took freeze dried crickets. I will try to get picture ASAP.

This colony has been doing extremely well. Sorry for not updating earlier, I was too lazy;). They are now at around 28 workers, and still have tons of brood. I have been feeding them a large cricket every other day and they also seem to love sugar water. I am probably going to move this colony into something else soon, as feeding them is starting to get hard without escapes. I will get pictures as soon as I get to my laptop.

I have now moved this colony into one of TarHeels Mini Hearth. They continue to do extremely well, with lots of brood, and other batch of workers just around the corner. I am also really excited to get my first median and major! I feed them fruit flies almost everyday along with mealworms. I will get pictures soon.

Thanks! I've been curious to see how camponotus are in the mini hearths as I was considering getting some for my C. herculeanus and Formica fusca colonies but wasn't sure if they'd be big enough to fit more of them then the test tubes I use.
