Q1=Queen 1
Q2=Queen 2
Found Q1 while walking out of my school. She had wings when I found her and was walking around on the ground. I see many male Prenolepis imparis alates at my school.
Q1Date of Collection: Feb 1, 3:14 PM
Q1Habitat of collection: Sidewalk near some shrubs at school
Q1Length (from head to gaster): 7-8mm
Q1Color: In normal/low light Q1 is brown, but in the sunlight, she shines in a butterscotch color
Q1Pics:
Found Q2 as I arrived at my house from school and found her mating with a male a lot smaller than her size, on my patio/garden which is surrounded by two nuptial flights of what I presume to be Prenolepis imparis. The males in the flights are 3-4mm and will start a swarm in a tree which is right behind my patio, off to the side of my house, and there will be another swarm in the tree next to my driveway. The queen was mating with one of these males, so I'm positive she is Prenolepis imparis.
Q2Date of Collection: Feb 2, 3:48 PM.
Q2Habitat of Collection: On my patio/garden near a lot of shrubbery and trees.
Q2Length (from head to gaster): 7-8mm
Q2Color: In normal/low light Q1 is a light brown, but in the sunlight, she shines in a butterscotch color
Q2Pics:
The Q2 photos aren't that good.
My guess is that both queens are Prenolepis imparis.
