I got this queen in the fall, threw her into hibernation for only 2 months and woke her up. Now after a month she is doing great. Has at least 4 Pupae, 3 Larvae and a small clutch of eggs! I think she is doing well! If I can I will try to get some pictures.

Yeah I don't have ants anymore. These weren't fed to my beetles because either the queen either runs away/gets killed by someone else, or there is always the possibility they have something on them/in them that who knows might cause a problem in my beetle colony which I'm not willing to lose, also adult ants have nothing much to give as far as food item goes.

I actually think that this colony was the one that got nanitics that then ran away from me, it's happened at least 3-4 times for me, mainly with Formica and Camponotus.

Why no ants?

I have a brother that kills/releases them and nothing sucks more than having ants everywhere for a week whilst you wait for them to all die off. I've never actually been able to keep ants properly either, I would love to have a foraging area AND a nest not both in 1 setup that you have to dump clean every few weeks. It certainly isn't my decision to make I hardly have the space for my beetles, which you would need for the ants anyway so....... catch 22 there.

Spoiler
