I sold a very large amount of acrylic ant nests and was a part of a scam where the customer received the products and wanted a refund...paypal required them to send the items back to me with i signed for and the were all packages with only packing material in them... Paypal did issued the credits and bam! out of all that money  but that is now behind me... no more china sales...even though I had them made in china to begin with..

When I was a young lad, 13-14, I tried to buy a 250gb HDD for my modded original xbox from eBay.

Seller convinced me to do it outside and through paypal. Long story short, big meany made me a very sad boy by taking my money and selling me a brick.

Paypal couldn't do anything to resolve the issue. I think it was something like $125 so not a super big deal financially. More of a crushing blow towards realizing the world.

Now I've got the "marked as delivered and showing up 3-4 days later" problem...

haha, about 1 1/2 years ago, I bought a product from this "someone". He got my money and told me he wasn't sending me anything. He used to fulfill his word, probably so he could build up his rep. But i found out about him through a friend who had received everything that he ordered.  I figured since my friend didn't have an issue, it wasn't a big deal I didn't have his info, or name or anything. But sure as $hit as soon as I paid, he informed me I would receive nothing. Of course I was quite surprised, that this guy just ripped me off, caught me off guard really. I messaged him back about 24 hours later and sent him the following after I got all his personal info from my friend. Which by the way, it turned out he only lived 6 hours away. Turns out he was only 15 years old as well so it really worked out.

ME: "That's fine, you don't have to send it to me. I will just come pick it up seeing as I know who you are"

SCAMMER:  "hahahahah  LMFAO! Your stupid I'm not falling for this or sending u anything"       <<< typical child on the internet

Me: Well, actually you are **His full name***. Or I will be paying a visit to **his address***. I'm giving you 24 hours to get it shipped or I'm on my way to your house. Don't try me.

SCAMMER: "hahaha I was just jokin bro here is tracking"

And guess what, everything showed up.

I remember uncovering a scam over on arachnoboards of someone selling subterranean termites. Which was illegal to begin with. This was over in antdude's days of ant forums but I can't find the thread on google. So quite a while ago and I'm not going to spend all day or multiple days on antdude's forum to find it.

He used if I recall 4 or 5 accounts, maybe even up to 6...all pretending to be friends and family but it was just him. Maybe he had a real friend helping him, but I doubt it cause the typing was exactly the same.

The funny part was one of the accounts pretended to be his mom but it had same terrible typing of the scammer rofl. And all his fake accounts went to defend him after I uncovered his scam. One of those accounts was a moderator I believe and he banned me rofl. It was a junk forum anyway.

Selling subterranean termites is illegal? Even within state boundaries?

Yeah, you need a permit for different states. However I am almost positive its like ants and its okay in the same state, I'm a little unsure on that one (always forget with all the weird laws in California) but I'm certain that is how it works.

In this case though, the scammer was in a different state. And since it was obviously a kid; definitely didn't have a permit lol. I know the creator of Termitat had to get a permit to sell his Dampwood termites, but that's cause he sells to many states. I do know even with a permit (outside state lines), you can't sell the actual queen+male. But you can sell secondary reproductives (or for dampwood termites, false workers) which do the same thing, which is funny.

What was the scam part? Was he really claiming to sell subterranean termites and not sending anything? Pretty sure subterranean termites aren't that hard to come across or in particularly high demand.

Outside of his multiple fake accounts, he was asking for...at the time, 50 dollars I believe it was for a colony of them which would been illegal anyway. I never gave him money especially cause 50 dollars was a lot and especially a lot for termites. So I didn't fully have proof (at the time) that he actually was since I wasn't gonna send him my money. As a kid I didn't have that much to throw away. Especially for termites that you can find literally anywhere. Just very incredibly shady and really weird. He wanted my credit card details for one, and wanted the security details on it. I know a lot of stores and websites ask for it, but he refused to use paypal for some reason. He only wanted my credit card info and didn't want to go through other channels. He also wanted me to take a picture of my ID as well (and well I was a kid, I didn't have an ID lol. I told him that and he said "oh don't need it" I remember that.

Later I checked on the site just to see if he was still there, like 3 years later (maybe it was 4) and I found out he was banned...for scamming multiple people (I asked one of the moderators and that is what they told me. And said it was a lot of "drama" involved). And all his multiple accounts were banned.

I think I had screenshots and stuff that heavily implied (not bullet proof evidence by any means) he was in fact scamming people before finding out that was actually accurate (if asking for my credit card and refusing to use paypal wasn't enough), but its been too long and I don't remember all the fine details. There was a lot more to the story, but heck if I'll ever remember every detail lol. Did remember a few extra details in this post though. But he was definitely scamming as I found out later when I checked the site again and asked.
