As the topic says, looking for a seller. Virginia seems to have a lack of sellers, and other sites are dropping the ball.

I'm interested in really any species, preferring Camponotus Pennsylvanicus. The goal is to set up a few colonies and become a farmer myself to help out others that are wanting to break into the hobby as I do.

also by"farmer" you mean trying to breed ants in captivity youll be hard pressed to find that it is very difficult and i think only one person on this forum ever did it with one species of ant. easiest thing to do is just collect ants in mass when they fly if there is no seller in your area.

oh sorry

you're good my mistake i didn't quote him. honestly like using the term keeper for us hobbyist rather than farmer as being a farmer can be kind of weird with animals in my opinion.

I always thought that the "farmer" part of "GAN farmer" referred to the fact that GAN farmers *are supposed to* raise colonies from a freshly mate queen.

I always thought that the "farmer" part of "GAN farmer" referred to the fact that GAN farmers *are supposed to* raise colonies from a freshly mate queen.

While stating it like that it makes sense just the way the OP stated it made it seem like he wanted to breed them. i just don't see the point of buying ants only to give them away? and also i just prefer keeper not saying using the word farmer is wrong in any way. i guess its all about the context of the word
