I have about 7 of these in a small container filled to the rim with rotten wood. They squeak like mad and ome almost popped the lid right off๐Ÿ˜• I'll try to fet them to lay eggs but I don't really know how to. If anybody else could chime in and offer some advice I'd really appreciate that. I am also doing this to observe them and to see how social they really are.

Not much happened but these guys eat wood like champs. I put in a log that I couldn't even smash apart with a hammer and when i checked on them, the whole thing's almost gone and all that's really left is lots of shredded wood and frass

The beetles are doing fine and they seem to be enjoying their setup so far. They eat a ton of dead wood though. No babies yet but they are very interactive with one another and squeak like mad.

Thanks man. They grind dead wood like champs though, still no larvae.
I'll try to upload a video since photos won't do their comical nature.

I remember hearing that Bess Beetles are extremely challenging to breed. Good on you if you manage to keep their life cycle going.

Thabks, Nathant! They seem to love dead wood but I haven't seen any larvae yet.
