Hello everyone,

 

 

I'm an entomologist from South Africa. I keep ants and have been raising colonies for almost 4 years now.

 

I have one Myrmecaria natalensis colony that is growing well and is about one year old now.

 

Here is a video on that colony:

I can't wait to learn more about ant keeping on the forum!

Hi, welcome! nice video! love the species. But one correction, its Myrmicaria, not Myrmecaria.

Welcome! Just my personal opinion here, but it seems like they're ready for a formicarium.

Welcome! Just my personal opinion here, but it seems like they're ready for a formicarium.

 

I've considered moving them, but i'm not sure i want to move them into a formicarium. I might add a tube with an outworld and keep adding test tubes for them to stay in. I have never before had success to get a colony to this size in a formacarium so i'm hesitant to move them.

Sweet channel, I'm subscribing! Your colony is amazing, I love the way they walk with their abdomens tucked like that, so cute.
