Size: Medium, still a nymph(I think)

Distinguishing characteristics: They hate me and love to torture me

If you know, please tell me what gender they are(there are two different ones btw)

The one showing the abdomen is a female.  Female mantids tend to have 5-6 abdominal segments whilst males have 7-8.

It's adult female not a nymph.

Well, did they mate first?

The one being eaten is also a female. But the remaining female probably already mated in the wild given that she laid an ooth so soon.

Ah, missed that they where both females. Didn't read the part on the first thread where he said they were two different mantids.

Oh, I had thought that they mated, ant that the one being eaten was a male(you know, they behead the male). I wasn't aware that they were both females.

Yeah, but it may have mated prior to you catching it. However they will lay ooth, regardless of being fertile or not. You will just have to wait and see I guess.

There are two ways of calling them what they are.  Mantid and mantis are both singular versions of the same thing, while mantids is the only plural.  Some people say mantises, but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

Guys, I was being sarcastic... I may not know much about mantids but I do know how to say it correctly.

Actually "ooth" is not a proper word, the appropriate term is ootheca.

Ah, yeah. That's what happens when the whole mantid community calls it ooth. It kind of sticks to a guy.
