1. Location of collection: South Lyon, Michigan.

2. Date of collection 9/11
3. Habitat of collection Sidewalk
4. Length Roughly 7mm~
5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture Red with dark colored tip on gaster.
6. Distinguishing characteristics This ant is rather large, like a large Formica sp. worker. But her coloration and shape is throwing me off. She's unlike any species i've seen in person before. The color of red she has is very vibrant too, much brighter then most red species i've come across.
7. Anything else distinctive
8. Nest description
9 . Post the clearest pictures possible of the top, side, and face of the ant in question, and if possible, their nest and the habitat they were collected in.

She wouldn't stop moving long enough to get a good face photo, but this is what i have.

Thank you.

Once again, i've never seen this species in person. I didn't know they existed and i'm curious to find out what it is. From there i can figure out how to obtain a queen.

How exactly would you keep a slave-raider ant? They need the slaves to survive, don't they?
