1. Location (on a map) of collection: Sydney, NSW, Australia
2. Date of collection: 11/9/2017
3. Habitat of collection: Concrete path in backyard
4. Length (from head to gaster): 8-9mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: All black except for gaster that is golden and hairy
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Golden hairy gaster

Thanks for the responses everyone!

I can now see that this doesn't look like a queen so I will be releasing it. The ant season is just beginning here so I hope I can catch my first queen soon.
