New guy here just checking in. A little about myself, I spend my time in the Inland Empire and O.C. (Mainly Moreno Valley and Anaheim).
I was looking into buying an ant farm (I remember begging my parents to let me have one of the old sand ones you could buy at toys r us).
well after binge watching ALOT of youtube clips and series in the past few days/weeks. I've gladly came to the realization that those are a horrible death-trap waste of money for ants and keepers.
So now I'm looking at buying a decent formicarium, I have a few I've been looking at on Antscanada.
I'm looking into starting with Camponotus Iaevigatus, Mainly because I've always found them to be an awesome species to look at and watch when I was younger. Some things I've read say that people would not recommend them for a beginner due to their slow colony start up, but I don't really mind.
My luck being what it is, it looks like I just missed the time frame to be able to catch my own queen so most likely I will be looking for sellers in my area.
