1. Location (on a map) of collection: Fort Lauderdale FL
2. Date of collection: 8/20/2017
3. Habitat of collection: In a swimming pool
4. Length (from head to gaster):7-8mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Looks mostly black to me, the legs seem brown, slightly reddish.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: 
7. Distinguishing behavior:She moves pretty slowly, but she was also probably close to drowning when I plucked her out of the pool.
8. Nest description: None

Just a cool update, I caught this ant this morning and she has already dropped her wings and laid a couple eggs.

I think this could be Pheidole megacephala; if not, it's another Pheidole species. I do have to say, 70-80 mm seems a little large! :)
