Greetings.  I'm Marcus.  Nice to meetcha.

I've lurked for a while, only recently have i taken an interest in formiculture.  A few of you probably know me on facebook or a few Non-formiculture forums like AB

At the current moment i have M. mimicus, and C. absquatulator

Despite being new to this, I'm learning very fast.  Hope to meet lots of ya next year during the flights in summer and spring!

I'm mostly interested in formicinae, i always liked their velvety abdomens :P

Welcome! Where did you find C. absquatulator? They are similar to C. fragilis, which are more common.

I found what I think was a C. absquatulator worker once. It's very hard to tell the difference between them and C. fragilis without a microscope. I'm curious as to where you found them too.

Imperial county along ogilby rd.  there was an enormous flash flood there hours before i had found her back in august

There's a huge colony of them along the east highline canal off hwy 78, you can see lots of majors there at night, they have a pale head with a dark blotch on the top, unlike fragilis which tend to have a darker head
I couldn't identify them until her nanitics hatched before i had assumed she was a fragilis queen
