I want to put some springtails into my wooden formicaria, but I'm unsure where to get them from. As far as I know, I can either buy a 'temperate' culture from one of the sites that sells them for exotic pets (they often also sell 'dwarf isopods', which I have no knowledge of) where the cultures run $15-20, or I could try to extract some from outside in the soil and breed them. What is the best choice, in this case? I'm curious what other people have done.

Honestly, I get mine from house plants, if you have house plants just lift up the pot, on the water tray you might be lucky to find some.
