Good evening Ladies and Gents.

Took a while to figure out which form to join, this place seems more active :).

So why am I here? Well I've recently caught a queen Ant, Lasius Niger (Black Garden Ant) I believe unless my eyes have deceived me.

I of course have been doing some research, I placed her into a plastic test tube last night, stored her away in a nice dark warm place, ok yes I will admit I took a peek today and lo and behold there are eggs.

I've put her back into the dark warm spot and shall leave her be as I know they're shy creatures.

I'm not new to keep bizarre pets, currently I own ten Tarantulas, I've had my darlings now for over 11 years, yes all are females sadly the males have all died, they don't live long.

Anyway it's good to finally find a place with good information about Ants, hope to see and share information with you all in the near future may it be good or bad.....yes I've had one or two bad experiences in the past with my eight legged friends, it's how we learn.

Thanks all  (y)
