1. Location of collection: Central New Jersey
2. Date of collection: 07/19/17
3. Habitat of collection: dirt path at tree farm
4. Length: 3/16 inch
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: orange transparent with brown through out body, single petiole

6. Distinguishing characteristics: none
7. Distinguishing behavior: none 
8. Nest description:none

Please recount the number of nodes and take a few clearer pictures; in the photo, the ant looks dark brown.

 

If it really is orange, it could be Pheidole sp. In that case, it would have two nodes.

I used to live in central NJ and the queen in your picture reminds me of Phediole pilifera...but the pic is pretty blurry, if you can get a few more shots of her I would be able to know for sure.
