These are alligator forceps. I suggest these for anyone that uses test tube setups. This tool makes it super easy to take the cotton deep inside the test tube out. It is about 2-4 seconds to reach into the test tube and grab the cotton and pull it out with this, where it was a lot longer and harder to take it out any other way that I have tried. Yesterday I got the cotton out of ~150 test tubes in 10 minutes, I would never have been able to do that without it. :D Overall, this tool is just useful.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention mine is 6.5 inches. I do not really suggest getting anything smaller than that, you want to be able to reach all the way down into the tube.

I am going to be purchasing few more byFormica's test tube replacement kit to replace my test tubes. :P

I just relocated one of my hibernating Lasius queens.

I may get an alternate test tube from Byformica as well, but it is not quite economical when you have ~55 queens, with that number growing. :P

In your case, hell no. It'd cost hundreds.

I just need one more for my Lasius. I don't intent to have a huge collection of ants.

Yes, I think I am following Drew's footsteps. One year from now, I may have a substantially larger amount than this too. :|
