This summer I plan on going to the Long Island Pine Barrens as well as Jones Beach. What ants can I expect to find at these places? Anything different from what I find in northwestern Long Island's deciduous forests?

Take a look for the parasitic Lasius plumopilosus, which was recently discovered on Long Island! Their distinctive, feather-tipped hairs make them unique.

Not sure of the exact location, but in the Northern part. (sorry to be so vague)
