What kind of dirt should I use for velvety tree ants?

The kind that is made up of decayed organisms, rocks, and elements built up over time.

What are "velvety tree ants?"


All my colonies are dead. 

 

 Except:

  

  Pogonomyrmex barbatus

  Pheidole obscurithorax

  Pheidole morens
