This will be about my Solenopsis richteri. They are a 4-6 queen colony. They were sold to me by a fellow Alabamian in Talhassee. They were $60.00 for about 70-100K of ants. This is there new nest. Pictures of the ants coming soon!

70-100,000?! That's impossible. I'd say maybe 7-10,000, but definitely not 100,000 ants.

No way you're going to be able to make manage and contain them for very long, kiddo.

This is a super small portion xD

I mean I have kept many species from escaping, but I do agree this is a challenge. Ordered some fine mesh.

I know it is a small portion; there is no way they got to that size in captivity.

So this is the species that's very similar to S. invicta, only darker?

No... They were dug up from the wild. My friend said that they were getting raided for a while now from Solenopsis invicta. The mound was huge too apparently.

Yeah. they are better at surviving floods, stings hurt less, less aggressive, and prefer nesting near water.
