So I wasn't a very big ant fan a short while ago but then I found my way into the ant keeping youtube channels and now I'm hooked! I was even able to catch my first queen today! Which is totally exciting! Oh, a little bit more about myself. I'm married with an 8 month old daughter. I'm a house wife at the moment. I watch a lot of youtube channels and adore nature channels. Ants now being a part of my daily watching. I find them really fascinating. I have no idea how to keep an ant or start a colony but you gotta start somewhere right!  I'll be making a post about the ant in a few.

A few other hobbies I have are crochet, cross stitch, drawing, and baking. I swear I'm only 26! lol. I'm an old lady in a young girl's body. Anyways, glad to be here and to meet all the other ant fans out there!

Welcome :)

My first ant that I thought was a queen was actually a worker way back! So if your really new to this you might want to get it ID'ed.

It's nice to find some other people from Louisiana, I just got into ants over the past couple of months, it started with watching videos for reviews of mountain bike tires and an ant video popped up and then I was hooked, now I've started building my own formicarium and already have a camponotus queen laying eggs in the first day and a solenopsis queen with a bunch of eggs. but in the future I have my mind set on atta Texana, but everyday I am always looking for new queens.
