Hey everyone, it has been a very long time since I have made a post but here I am looking for some information. Basicly I would like to catch some Camponotus sanctus queens I came from Stockholm to Greece quite later than I expected but what I want to know do camponotus still fly in April and if so how do nuptial flights work do I wait for it to rain and then the next morning they are out? Thanks in advance.

Greece is pretty south i myself live in Montenegro so we are in the same region and some camponotus species have already flown so i would guess that sanctus has too ... so either look in to some rotten wood for queens of camponotus or wait till may when the next row of nuptial flights begin and see if its flying then good luck

Camponotus sanctus flies in the first days of May I think, as well as many other C. sp. in Greece.

Yes, most ants Camponotus included have their nuptial flights before and after rain. usually I like waiting a day after the rain to look for queens.

All my colonies are dead.

 Except:

  Pogonomyrmex barbatus

  Pheidole obscurithorax

  Pheidole morens
