Possibly a spider hunting wasp??

I saw this little cutie pushing dirt out of her/his den on the trail of Deer Island in Marin county California USA
I think it's a wasp but it's missing that trademark thin propodeum it also seems to be lacking a stinger

I'm letting this cutie go tomorrow at like 12-ish pm pst (03/12/2017) so if anyone wants better pics just ask and i'll try to snag some more.
