Hello! If you remember from a while back, I won a give-a-way for a free formicarium from Loops117's ant store. This post will be to review the product that has been sent to me.

The formicarium looks great and looks like it can hold about any species that isn't very large (like Camponotus).

The lid for the outworld is snug to prevent escapes, but at the same time is very easily removed. The fake plants are very aesthetically pleasing and are positioned in a way that will not allow the ants to simply climb out of the formicarium with the lid off. As long as I apply a barrier (such as fluon) the ants will not escape with the lid removed (although I recommend it stays on to be safe and to prevent other insects from entering).

These tubes allows for easy transport of a colony, directly from their nest, and the caps fit tightly to prevent smaller species from sneaking out.

These forceps will make cleanup easy and the pipettes will make hydrating the nest both easy and accurate.

Everything was packaged nicely, with bubble wrap around the items and packing peanuts filling in the empty spaces. Everything was snug so nothing would shake or break.

Also, I found that the tubes for transporting ants fit nicely into the test tubes I had (diameter of 1.7 cm). If I decided to transport ants from a test tube to the nest, I doubt that I would even need to fill any empty space with cotton to prevent escapes. The other side of the tube is smaller so if I did have a smaller test tube, then connecting them would still be without difficulty.

I would also like to thank Loops for throwing in this extra item because he was not able to send me the formicarium due to certain complications.

It looks like I won't be needing to use that transporting trick after all!

I will most definitely be making a journal using these items once nuptial flights start up!

I would also like to apologize for the delay in making this post. I received these items several weeks ago, but I have had quite a bit of schoolwork to do and barely had enough free time to make a review. Thanks again, Loops!

I love every living thing from 0 - 400 legs! (Except for 247. That's just weird.)
