He only has superworms. Just found him and their not too pricey. And frankly I don't have that many colonies so I really don't want something that can breed out of control like mealworms.

You need to separate every single larva for them to pupate.

That's fine. I figure I only need to pupate like 10 of them to keep a colony going. Otherwise they have a long shelf life as worm stage.
