The only job a callow worker has is to wait for their exoskeleton to harden and to help out with brood care. The fact that callow workers don't fight is what makes them so useful for founding social parasite colonies. Queens are also ant fodder after their more independent behaviors fade away.

If you don't want to participate in the topic, then don't click on it. How do you think I feel every day? :D

And in closing, I would like to restate that people who import colonies are still punk amateurs who will never be curious enough about ants to contribute in any way to our community. Importing Lasius niger is really stupid if it is true, and really stupid if it is just false and inflammatory. Either way, I am sick of having to listen to this tripe.

Are the Camponotus supposed to be majors or minors? Camponotus majors are incredibly good at disposing other ants up to a point where a handful of them can kill off an entire young colony of over hundred smaller ants like Lasius.

Yikes. I knew they were for defending the colony, but I didn't know they were THAT good at it.
