Here is a mite I found on my queen. Also seen one walking over brood and removed it quickly. Don't see any others walking around. Can I get an ID if it is harmful or not? Currently have a lemon and orange slice in with them.

What ever it is, it does not look like it is healthy for the ants.

Indeed, lemon/orange didn't seem to do anything for them yet. Tonight when the kids go to sleep I will attempt to chill the queen and remove it myself. I don't see anything else in there with them.

So chilled her and got it off with a tooth pick, just lightly rubbed it off. Took some time as it was very very clingy. 9 hours later now she is acting like nothing ever happened. :)

Did it look anything like this? It was very difficult to scrape this thing off.

Here are the mites you do NOT want on your ants.

Kinda sorta like the first picture, seemed white and red at the same time to my eyes. I was going to take a picture but I was rather ticked off and squished it when I got it.
