Purchased ant nectar on amazon came in quickly. Just put in fridge, didn't unwrap. When I took out a couple hours later to feed my camoonotus modocs the bottle was sticky and all the instructions rubbed off.

Good thing I read the instructions first. My small colony did like it. Maybe include written instructions on paper.

Sorry you experienced this. The labels will be waterproof at some point in the future.

Shake well. Feed as much as your ants can consume within a few hours, every two to three days or as needed. Don't feed other sweets alongside Sunburst.

Thanks,

Great product by the way.   Will try to post a video of a worker giving it back to the queen, pretty impressive.

Same thing happened to me, melted all in my fridge, took a couple hours to get off but no biggy. My ants love it!

Like I said, the transparent labels do that.

I'm slowly switching to a new type of label that is very durable and is used for industrial and military applications, but it will be a while before it is phased in completely.

Just an update on this issue. It was resolved a few months ago with new product labels for all byFormica products. No more rubbing off.

What's the benefits of keeping it in cold storage?

I've never had problems keeping sunburst at room temperature.

Is it to prevent excessive heat in certain environments?

I actually recommend against refrigeration because filling gravity feeders with cold liquids may cause them to leak a small amount as the trapped air bubble warms to room temperature and expands.
