Hi there, I just discovered this forum last night after looking at the Tarheels site and admiring the small formicariums.  I'd like to learn more about keeping ants and try some species.  My main interestes are orchids and dart frogs, but lately I've been getting into mantids and always wanted a nice ant farm.  Looking forward to learning a lot here!

If there is anyone is Southern California, please reach out to me, I'd love to meet up.

Yes, I abide in Southern California, Dspdrew (owner) also lives here as well as many others. If you need any help with ants just post on the forums or log into chat. Sadly, nuptial flight season is over until around late spring until late summer. The best place to go would be a desert as they have many cool species like Pogonomyrmex and Myrmecocystus (honey pot ants). If you really need want to get some ants would be here: 1. http://www.formicult...rn-california/ 2. http://www.formicult...ern-california/ , Or if you just want to browse of post about selling go here: http://www.formicult...l-market-place/ .  Welcome to the forum!
