I have the tunnels dug out, now I need a piece of glass and a water tower. Carved it all out by hand, the Dremel chips the edges to much.

This one is for my Camponotus noveboracensis for next years colony growth, going to attach it to the THA fortress.

Wow! That looks amazing for hand carved, what kind of tools did you use? The kind for wood carving? Great job!

I made my own chisel out of a straight screwdriver, hammered it to the right edge and slowly chipped away, and a small file to get the edges right.

Awesome, gotta say this is helping me decide what I want to make my formicariums out of. I was trying to decide between firebrick and grout. One of my concerns with firebrick was how I was going to carve it, so thanks! I'm really excited to see this finished, hope you update this thread as you make progress!

Edit - Do you think this firebrick would work?

Crystals recommends, K-23 Refractory bricks, ensure it is made from fired clay. I believe mine is made of bits of ceramic and fired clay.
