I found about 2 dozen Crematogastor Cerasi queens last year in August/September. This queen began laying eggs around April or May of this year. This is the largest colony. The brood pile was huge at one point, but it has shrunken and there is less foraging, which may indicate hibernation. I estimate this colony to have around 400 workers, though there may be significant more. The workers like to tightly conglomerate in clusters around the nest, making it impossible to count them.
