I am looking to purchase any colony but more specifically one with 100s of workers or more. I live in NJ but it's legal to ship if they aren't plant pests. Willing to pay 100+

The laws are very confusing, but one thing that has become pretty clear is that interstate transport of any ants is illegal without a permit.

The assertion that the transport of all ants, as a blanket statement applicable in all circumstances, is disputed.

Since most cases are a federal issue, I intend to have my attorney, who specializes in federal law, write a formal legal opinion on this matter, which will lay to rest all the misinformed opinions and beliefs of others. Anyone who wants to chip in and help with the legal fees to settle the million dollar question that has plagued our community for far too long, please contact me.

Awesome. I can't wait to finally hear an interpretation of the law from someone other than its enforcers.

Good stuff!

Just a word of caution though for readers, different attorneys and prosecutors have different interpretations of law, though amateur ant keepers are probably not high law enforcement or a prosecutors list of priorities.
