has anyone seen headless ants that still walk and such? found one yesterday while hunting solenopsis invicta. kinda creepy. like a zombie.

Indeed. Saw a camponotus queen without a gaster while camping about a month ago. I was so excited to find her... until I noticed her missing gaster!

Is she pretty much ruined without a gaster?

probably she can't lay eggs without a gaster.
