Thief ants flew 'en masse' last night. It was odd, they flew the day before as well but every queen we found was missing its gaster; last night they all had their gasters still attached.

I'm new to this as of May 2017 and I'd have to say that this site is such an amazing resource. Having pros helping to ID ants is incredible and super helpful.  I will be applying to GAN Project for Vancouver (lower mainland) once I have some worker colonies as per Ants Canada.

S. molesta flew like it was the end of the world today. It was truly unlike anything I have ever seen. The ants flew with vigor, determination, passion and incredible intensity. There were thousands, literally thousands of female alates and dealates littering my my driveway; you couldn't step anywhere without crushing three or four. I think my brother caught like 20 and put them in a tube.

I don't know what I'll do now. I'm considering therapy or some sort of trauma relief; I have been frightened to my core.

S. molesta flew in droves, once again. The C. pennsylvanicus queen was found in the skimmer of my neighbor's pool- they must've flown last night. She was missing a leg and a half and in very poor condition when we found her; hopefully she'll make it. We also managed to save what seemed like a young Pseudacris crucifer trapped in the chlorinated confines of the pool's skimmer as well.

Massive city wide mating flight here in Laramie, all different species yet still mostly Lasius.  Anyone in the Wyoming/ Colorado area should expect huge flights due to the amount of weather going on.

It's been going on all day, no sign of slowing down either.
