First off, addressing what Grandma did. Nothing of the sort will ever happen again. As I deal with my self-harm wounds I will start with this journal, of an obscurithorax colony I caught.

Second off, apparently the queen wanted to reveal herself and be caught, because I only did a little digging and she popped right out, abandoning her loyal colony.

Good luck! Pheidole are a fairly rewarding species to keep, and are definitely a favorite of mine.

Just got her a brand new test tube. She is lethargic so she shouldn't be much of a problem when i introduce the rest of her loyal gang back in.

Nice! They’re a pretty small colony, which should make them very easy to take care of. They also fairly big for pheidole.

Problem is her colony used to be very large. She's got workers and majors but i don't know if she is not depressed.

Should i let the queen start form scratch? She only has one minor and the majors will be no help in brood care.

no, the queen will certainly die from the shock of losing all her colony, she also won’t survive because she knows what its like to have workers already

The heist has not been prepared. However.

I can clearly see how P. obscurithorax builds their nests. They start with one whole and dig and spread. Imma give them a bigger container once i theft the rest of the colony. We'll see if they build the same way.
