Update 08/07/2015

 

The Tetras got an outworld, it's a small container for their small workers.   The outworld has a small sheet of paper taped to the bottom so I can see the tetra nanitics better against the black colour of my desk. Too bad they aren't the red variant it be much easier to see haha. The container use to be my Myrmica container until the mycelium took over...Both of my Lasius have a bunch of pupae however the boosted pupae is probably dead

Update aug,16,2015

Quick update one of the Lasius have nanitics. I have to deal with tiny ants that run around 24/7 while the queen looks like her abdomen is going to explode (It's really bloated).

Quick update:

Cleaned the dirtcarium and will be using it on Myrmica, it was a pain in the A$$ to do so. Seems the workers have a nutrition deficiency they're orange coloured. They have a tiny bit of brood not much.  Queen is doing good though. c:

The orange workers are new workers, and their exoskeleton haven't darkened yet. I have these in my colonies all the time.

That's what I first thought but there's like no pupae and only very few workers (maybe around 5?). I sort of neglected them. I found them foraging (Which is how I knew they we're alive) with one normal coloured worker and it wasn't acting all derpy ish so I don't think it was newly eclosed, not to mention they must've eclosed ages ago maybe more than a month ago. I say around a 1+ month ago because that's when my other tetra colonies workers eclosed and these were only found around 2 or 3 days apart.

Update Sept|18|2015

 

Well I finally got the Tetramorium to move tubes just took the old one and dumped everything out into a container while putting the queen and a few brood+workers in the new tube. I've got a cool timelapse video of them moving their brood but I have no clue how to work computer stuff. :\

 

As for the Lasius colony in the plastic test tube they've stopped dying ever since they moved into a glass test tube and have gained around 4 or 5 more workers. Original worker count was 4, if none of the workers died I'd say there would be around 15+ by now.

 

The other smaller Tetramorium colony is pretty slow growing.

Long time no update.

One Tetra colony is hibernating

The other looks like it's preparing for hibernating.

One Lasius may or may not be preparing for hibernating

And the last colony moved tubes for 2 reasons: A) the tube broke В) Cotton turned completely yellow.
