I caught 4 Brachymyrmex sp. alates on a blacklight on April 29.  I paired them into 2 test tubes and they now have pupae ready to eclose any day now.

Current Species:
Camponotus fragilis

Novomessor cockerelli

Pogonomyrmex montanus

Pogonomyrmex rugosus

Manica bradleyi

Why did you give up? I wouldn't think this species would be very difficult.  I forgot to mention, the day after I found these queens, I found more of these queens swarming all over the sidewalk at my school but didn't have any containers to bring them home in.

Current Species:
Camponotus fragilis

Novomessor cockerelli

Pogonomyrmex montanus

Pogonomyrmex rugosus

Manica bradleyi

Every time they get a nice little colony going, they all die off. After a few times of that, considering how interesting they are to me, I'm not wasting the time anymore.
