Got this colony from Drew about a week ago and they're very interesting! They are very active and its very fun to watch. There are many queens and a lot of brood. I'll see about making a larger enclosure for them eventually but for now, they love beef cat food and crushed up sunflower seeds. I've provided sugar water but they really don't care as much for that.

How long did it take them to rip it apart? I know Bugbarb pulls the heads off her roaches, I cut frozen crickets to save them the effort of having to get through the exoskeleton.

Camponotus vicinus, Crematogaster 1, Crematogaster 2, Formica francoeuri, *, *, Myrmecocystus testaceus, Novomessor cockerelli, Pheidole hyatti, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus, Solenopsis invicta

My cats crushed up the roach and I froze them all mangled. I simply dropped them in and it took a few hours for them to make a shell of it!

It's always cool seeing ants feed their larvae.

The brood pile has extended the length of 2 test tubes now of little larvae and eggs. There are lots of eggs. Looking to maybe add another test tube for more growth
